DAY 8

Wednesdays at the health center are always busy, with the primary focus being on the crucial task of immunizing children. This Wednesday was no exception, with the morning hours buzzing as numerous children arrived for vaccinations, mirroring the scene from the previous week. The routine of the day was established early on, with healthcare workers meticulously attending to each child's needs and ensuring they received the necessary protection against preventable diseases.

As lunchtime approached, there was an overwhelming feeling of excitement in the air, not only for the meal but also for the end of our immersion experience. To commemorate the occasion and say goodbye to our time together, a small celebration was planned earlier. It was a heartfelt gesture, made all the more special by the fact that our head nurse, a key figure in our journey, would be unavailable for the rest of the week. Despite the early hours, the gathering was warm and welcoming, reflecting the strong bond we had formed.

The midday festivities provided a welcome respite from the day's activities, allowing us to reflect on the friendships we had formed and the lessons we had discovered. Amid the laughter and shared stories, it was clear that our time at the health center had left an indelible impression on each of us. As we savored the delicious food prepared by the barangay health workers, we couldn't help but feel nostalgic for the times we'd shared and the experiences that had shaped us.

In the afternoon, our head nurse called us together for a reflective discussion. It was an opportunity to reflect on our immersion experiences, sharing insights and revelations gained along the way. With a mix of pride and humility, we listened to our mentor's words of wisdom, offering guidance and setting expectations for our future medical endeavors. Though our culmination in the center was celebrated early, it still saddened us that there would be two more days remaining.
