DAY 4

Today unfolded as a pleasantly calm day here at the Suba-Masulog Health Center. With our head nurse away handling some errands over at the City Health, things around our station had a bit of a laid-back vibe as there were few to no patients. The usual rush of patients was notably lighter, giving us a chance to catch our breath and regroup. However, despite the quieter atmosphere, there were still some patients dropping in for their regular check-ups or prenatal care. Sadly, without our head nurse around to guide us, we had to politely turn them away, realizing just how much we rely on her expertise to keep things running smoothly and she was also the only one who could legally give a check-up.

Even with the calm day, we made sure to tend to the needs of those who did visit the health center. Some visited to get their blood pressure checked or to grab their prescriptions. And while our head nurse was off tackling other duties, our team pulled together to make sure everyone got the care and attention they deserved. It was a reminder of the importance of teamwork and adaptability in our line of work, even on the quieter days.

In addition to our usual tasks, we also took the opportunity to input medical records into the Department of Health (DOH) website. This ensures that all new patients are properly recorded and accounted for, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our healthcare services. Despite the simplicity of this task, it underscores the meticulous attention to detail required in our profession, even during the slower moments.

Today's events served as a gentle reminder of the crucial role each member of our team plays in keeping our community healthy. While it was a bit different with our head nurse away, it gave us a chance to step up and fill in where needed. Even in the quieter moments, there's still plenty to do to ensure everyone gets the care and support they need.
